Hotel Condestable is situated five minutes walking distance from Plaça Catalunya, the most important square of the city, and from Passeig de Gràcia, a long avenue where there are two Gaudi's buildings: Casa Batlló and La Pedrera.

La pedrera is a masterpiece from Gaudi, built between 1905 and 1910 as a combined apartment and office block. It is known as La Pedrera (the quarry) because its uneven grey stone façade.

Visitors can tour the building and go up to the roof where giant multicolored chimney pots juts up like medieval knights.
